This past week I have been in France, working and composing... my mind is in London and my body is in France in the sunshine walking....
This Saturday I'm working with Dan night in Lewisham Art-house with his Sound Sculptures. I'll be performing and I'm I'm a judge in a composition competition and I'm really looking forward to hearing and working with the entries .
Next week I am to travel to Diamond Light Source in Oxford to work with a on a new commission called Crystal and on the 21st of July I am performing at the ICA a new work called Untitled Lines. This work has a Limited Edition tape cassette release available from entr'acte which will be for sale on the night and available a few days before in the book shop at the ICA.
I'm just finishing mixes for the cassette now I hope you will enjoy them !Enjoy your week, it is hot here in London ,

Soundcheck

== Just come back from my first soundcheck for Untitled Lines in the new ICA theatre space . It was good to hear the work in the space , I'm working with quite extreme streams of sound, some are very delicate and some are very robust.
Most of the sound is created from my own voice and I have focused on the concept of recording with domestic objects ie my iphone. Through domestication, lines of song and rythym emerge in alternating harmonic and melodic platforms.

Diamond

I'm working at Diamond Light Source in Oxford at the moment collecting audio and looking at spectrums for my new work 'Crystal'. Diamond is an amazing place of cutting edge technology scientists and synchrotron technology.

An Accidental Collocation of Atoms

Hallo again ,
An amazing week of discovery and creativity at Diamond much more to tell.
But for now it is the last push for the 21st at the ICA . I will be working with a great sound system and performing a new work called Untitled Lines in response to the Pablo Bronstein exhibition.I love this feeling just before performances , I have excited nerves...

I have much thanks to give,
Thank you to everyone that was involved in the event tonight, it was very special and a privilege to perform my site Specific work Untitled Lines at the ICA. Thank you to Allon Kay from Entr'acte who published 20 Limited Edition Cassette Tapes of the core music that was manipulated live . These are two works called Drift and Swan.
The lines are untitled as they are moments of liveness between my self the performer and the audience .. moments of expression which can only be captured by physical presence and by being in that space at that time.
All the material was generated from recordings by my iphone a domestic recording device. The recordings are of my voice and two environmental recordings of wind and the sea. This work is a site specific work in response to Pablo Bronstein's Sketches for Regency Living. It was performed in the Regency Box theatre space of the ICA.
Thank you for the work done by Marta and Lilli , Jamie , Allon ,the sound crew , Yev , Andi and Will and my audience, It was a real pleasure.

Big big week ahead and looking forward to an exciting weekend of music performance and very very good sound. The entracte tape cassette of Untitled Lines was released last week for the performance.

Bang Bang Festival Asteriod

Tonight
I am playing with the group Asteroid ... Its going to be a great sound with a smashing line up of players ... a free improvisation collective that rotates with every performance.
