Its been a busy week indeed . Composing , Listening, double marking and boards. Up late ... working on my new piece for Allon. So I'm good.
I've been invited to do a performance at Bangor Electro Acoustic studio's on the 13th . It will be good , they have an amazing system . Genelecs , ATC's and lots of Sub woofer's.I did my first music degree at bangor, have memories of coffee , ATC's and Pro Tools HD...

Lucky Cloud

About this time last year I had the privilege of working with the author Tim Lawrence at his book launch Hold on to your Dreams at the ICA in London. His book was about the composer Arthur Russell. I was asked to write new music which would complement Arthurs Russell's music as well as re-working Russell's old recordings.
So far Hold on to your Dreams has played in London , Basso Berlin, Moma Oxford and now at the end of February it is being performed in the Institute of Arts California.
I really enjoyed working on this collaboration as Arthur Russell's music is so soulful and Tim's book is very sensitive to the life that Russell led as a composer.
The excerpt below is from the start of the work which introduces the song Lucky Cloud. Within this except I'm working to capture the gentle delicacy in Russell's recordings and the emotive content in his voice.

I've had a fantastic week . I've been working very hard on Tim's mixes for Los Angeles and work at the university . I've heard some great new work from ex students namely Luca Nasciuti.

Next week in Bordeaux my work is part of a symposium on sound and music . The organisation is called Tempo'ra. They have a good web page which offers a great deal of contact information and good links on events commission opportunities and competitions.They are an international group of composers who very kindly offered me the opportunity to contribute to their meeting.Enjoy the weekend ,

Hallo ,
I am very pleased to say that I am performing on the 23rd of March with Tom Richards in a live event organised by the Sound Fjord Gallery.
Both Tom and I are doing are own individual sets Tom's work is beautiful and detailed , he works with live mechanical interfaces to produce ear tingling sounds extreme and delicate. His worked is very techo based.
