On the 19th of July I will be releasing the EP Ultra Tonal. It will be released from this site and you will be able to freely download it.
All the tracks on the EP follow a common thread of detailed micro melodies and impending pitch to noise ratio's. It is rhythmic, articulated , raw and I love it. The sound world is a very physical one, which is all generated internally from the computer.
In the mean time, while you are waiting , here is some of my artwork which has been created for the EP.

Sheikh at Fail has put my electronic work Alpha into his monthly Podcast.
Alpha is the second track on the Podcast. The way it has been mixed really sets the spirit of the work off. A bit like a swarm of bees going off to a technological building site...I love it
The work was written in the studio's of EMS Stockholm a lovely musical space.
So, if you fancy a listen to the podcast the link is below.
Thanks Sheikh!
Nice Mix,

Ultra Tonal

Ultra Tonal is an EP of three works.
This is a freely downloadable EP from the jothomas.me web site. The work is being released as uncompressed AIFF and 320Kbps VBR MP3. To download the EP visit the release page.
These works are composed for concentrated listening and also live performance. The material on this EP is entirely synthetic.Connections between human agency and digital technological landscape have been made.
The format of this EP is rare as it is being released through AIFF. The reasons for this are:
1. The files are pure audio. No spectral content is lost due to codec mpeg three compression. Importantly micro sound, glitch and spatial detail is exactly the same as when composed.
2. The material has it’s own authenticity as a piece of pure audio. It is being offered freely to listener to own, edit and share with other’s. Also, the MP3's have no DRM on them.
Jo Thomas is a London based composer who works with the extremes of the sound spectrum. Jo has worked with electronic sound since being a teenager. She has an academic post at the University of East London researching and teaching in Music Technology and Electronic Composition. Her work is available on vinyl through Entr’acte Records.
